AKRA Stroh R. + P + K is a soil additive that results in a faster rotting of crop residues (for spraying on straw after harvesting, to encourage straw rotting on arable land). With AKRA Stroh R. + P + K, the organic molecules in crop residues (cellulose and lignin) are broken down. As such, no additional nitrogen is necessary.

Bacillus megaterium phosphaticum + Frateuria aurantia

Bacillus megaterium phospaticum

This naturally available bacteria splits the phytin (6 phosphate molecules arranged in a circle) embedded in the organic materials. The split phosphate then remains in a mobile form before being absorbed by crops or take into one of the many phosphorous pools.

Effect of Bacillus megaterium phosphaticum

Application with AKRA Stroh R. 
  • Bacillus megaterium phosphaticum can be used on all crop residues (such as straw, stubble, chaff) or can simply be sprayed on arable soils.
  • It is very UV-stable and therefore does not necessarily need to be worked into the soil. However, the bacteria does work far more efficiently if it is mixed into the soil together with the crop residues.
  • Bacillus megaterium phosphaticum can react with any type of agricultural fertiliser in soils, splitting organically bound phosphate and therefore make it possible for crops to absorb it.
  • According to our previous investigations, this bacteria can mobilise up to 30 kg of phosphorous (P) depending on the available organic matter.
  • The mobilised phosphorous is kept available for plants by AKRA Kombi and fixing (ageing) is largely prevented.

Applications and advice

Recommended application rate per ha:

  • Cereal straw: 1 litre AKRA Stroh R.
    100 – 300 litres of water (depending on quantity of straw) 
  • Maize straw:  2 litres AKRA Stroh R.
    100 – 300 litres of water (depending on quantity of straw)
Do not exceed the recommended application rate!

With cases of proven take-off

  • 200 l/ha water
  • 2 l/ha AKRA Stroh R.+P+K 
  • 2 l/ha AKRA MSB 
  • 3 l/ha AKRA Sulpur+ 
  • Ensure that they spray solution has a pH value of 5.5
The soil cultivation can be done immediately after the application.
